Who’s been plucking my roses?

By on December 5, 2019

Roses are beautiful. Roses befit memorable occasions. Everyone beholds their beauty. Looking at the colours simply bring beautiful thoughts, happy feelings and joy. Phew.. ????. What a rapturous sight.
But what do you do when changes occur.
For a split second, everyone forgets that each petal has a life of its own. I did. I thought the petals are all in such a joyous harmony and would be forever.

Last night I went away full of admiration and happy feelings merely beholding the beauty of these natural emblem and thanking G-d that someone believed that I deserved them.. What a happy feeling indeed .. ????.

Came back this morning. And what ???? Whose been plucking my flowers?
Puzzled .. ???? ..

I went about my morning chores thinking who’s done it; without acknowledging my upset. And as if my roses heard me and wished to respond to my queries, I turned around just in time to catch one petal drop, and a second one, and another.
Aha aaa.. Nobody’s been plucking my beautiful flowers. Each one just dropped off when it was its time to. Others remained strong, colourful and beautiful. And it struck me that everything in life obeys the unseen power (G-d) who knows and decrees everything from above.

I remember my teacher saying “there is a time for everything and a purpose for everything under the sun… A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to pull away from love… “

Until each petal dropped off it was beautiful and full of life. I had to let go petal after petal. After all I still have the other petals on the bunch to admire. I will shift my focus away from the fallen petals and fill my mind with the beauty of those remaining on the stalks.

After all with each “rose-drop” others remained on the parent stalk as though nothing had happened. The end of every human is to remain beautiful and strong whatever happens and wherever we find ourselves. This is what faith in G-d makes possible – believing that all things happen for our ultimate good as long as we remain focused and rooted in our source.

If this is you today, stay strong.

Until next time,
Annie
